Personalised crochet hat

My first ever personalised crochet baby hat using felt. Isn't it cute? I like this idea. An order for my sis actually who requested the name to be pasted on the hat. Not really neat but I'm glad to have completed it.
And thereafter, some homemade donuts. MMmmmm....yumm yumm...

My new crocheted had for my girl. Finally, I made something that can fit her nicely. :-) So happy. And it's not so difficult.

Baby hat crochet project

Trying new pattern for crochet hats. These are the completed projects. I've tried different hooks and yarns to achieve different sizes. I think they are adorable. Love them all. The blue one is a custom order from my sis to give to her friend's newborn. I've yet to add personalised name on it. Will blog about it once done. :-)

The week's progress

Here are some of the items i've completed so far. From left: a knitted headband with a crocheted flower, a sling bag and a knitted bracelet with a crocheted flower. Didn't i mentioned 'knitted' twice? Yes!! I did. And I'm proud of my first two knitting projects. It is so much fun! I learnt to edit my photos using picasa too! So happy.

Getting the hooks going..

My love for crochet is growing day by day. Here are some of my crocheted stuffs these last two months. I think I'm addicted to crochet already.

I can say, it has been a great learning experience and hopefully I will continue to be better. I find crocheting is addictive. Now, everywhere I go, I bring my sets of hooks and yarns with me. Not forgetting my patterns for reference.  The best thing about crochet is I get to watch movies with my hubby and entertain my little ones while busy doing the crochet. Isn't that great? I'm now eyeing for  more challenging patterns. Hmmm....

Learning to crochet

I've been wanting to try my hands at crocheting but years ago, the only shape i could come up with was the long chains which never materialised into anything nice. Then I came across a book in the local library which visualises the technique clearly. It's so simple that even a beginner like me was able to comprehend. So, I decided to give crochet a try.
Finally, I managed to crochet a simple flower pattern.

Then,  encouraged from an FB friend who shared a pattern with me,  I made my very own baby beanie hat. (It's not that perfect though).

But  I did it!! That's the real joy of all these. Now I'm hooked.  :-)
A real challenge for me is to find the right yarn and hook size. I'm still quite clueless in this area. Will continue to discover more on this area.
