Homemade Breads

With the recent price hike, I and my hubby found out that a pack of MILO now costs RM5 more than the previous month. Imagine other goods and food items which are so costly nowadays. A loaf of bread is now priced at RM3.00 - RM3.60. Some are not that good. So, I decided to bake my own bread as it is cheaper and tastier. Of course. My whole family loves to eat bread. So buying a loaf a day isn't practical anymore. After many trial and error sessions, this turned out to be my best baked bread ever. hehe...My kids love them so much that they ate the bread for breakfast, lunch and even dinner!! Now that's a lot of work. Need to bake everyday. Phew... So here it is. My homemade bread. Hmm...should consider selling it. What do you think? :-)

This was my first time baking my own scottish morning rolls.  Yumm Yumm!  Not the best-looking though. haha...

First challenge.

I've wanted to sew a small curtain for my bathroom door which has a kinda vented portion that the contractor had wrongly put. As a result, people from outside can peep through the vented parts and see whatever mother nature calls you to. tsk!tsk! Since we cannot adjust the door, so I decided to cover it with a simple curtain. Just so nobody can see inside. I don't have any patterns or tutorials to follow. Just my instincts. So here was the project:
Things I need. Fabric and ruler.

sew...

Ditto! Sewn!

Trying to get  a closer look but my camera just failed to capture it.

Ironing...

the simple bathroom door curtain. Phew!

Too simple eh. NO frills! But I'm happy as it is cos this means the beginning of a long journey.

Well, trying to capture it in the camera but not so good quality  again. Hmm...

So there my bathroom door curtain (though so simple) is now completed. I wanted to  hang it straight away but hubby said not yet. Arghh!! Will snap the hang curtain tomorrow then. Now I can smile away...looking for another project to do.

Getting started

Things I've bought.

Some materials I've printed out from the internet

Trying out the different patterns using my new toy. Well, not that clear.

I've figured out how to operate the machine. Hooray!! Now it is working properly. Now, I'm ready to do my first simple project.

Sewing Machine

Finally, after much thoughts, I'd decided to purchase a sewing machine. Been dreaming of it for weeks. Now it has arrived. Tada...

what do you think? Singer Model :988. Not bad eh. It has 156 patterns to choose. To be honest, i'm still trying to figure out how this thing works. I'd tested using it before purchasing the other day but I've completely forgotten a few details. hmm...excuse the new beginner here. Ok. will blog about the progress i make with this machine soon. Can't wait!!!
